Last wednesday we had an awesome talk given by Khurram javed Mir former CMO of Kraysis and presently CMO (cheif Marketing officer) of Kualitatem. The key points that he highlighted from his own experience were:
1. Team work is utmost important, you need to have coherent stakes inorder to run an enterprise. He also said, if your are having conflicts between the top tier management then you should better withdraw rather then carrying on the business. Team comprises of non-techy and techy people, the essence of the succes of the business depends upon the co-ordination of the team because you can't do everything yourself
2. Idea
He talked about that behind every disaster there is an opportunity. I think we all remember the Rikshaw idea that he gave. Along with an idea you need to have a strong determination and you need to have a flare which keeps you on the road. He talked about exploiting the right oppurtunity at the right time. He talked about idea process which was about idea generation and implementation of that idea at the right time.
3. Money
You need not to have a money-motive behind establishing an enterprise, because that will eventually drown your entreprise. You need to have some strong flare which keeps you motivated to keep up a business
4. Research?
Before going onto the market you need to have a rigorous research about your market and atleast you should know that you are plunging into right direction

Mr. Mir came out as an affable person who knew that he could govern an organization. His identification of a ideal market and his commitment and determination were an inspiration.
1. Team work. That's the essence of project management and interdisciplinary studies, which are unlike anything being taught around the globe. I can only repeat what he said - you can't do everything, you don't need to know what's tech if you're a non-tech. How do than such teams work? They do so by learning the vocabulary, work processes and culture of the disciplines foreign to them.
2. As they say - idea is the business model. A lot of imagination takes place beyond the creation of the idea which helps the implementation of the idea take place.
3. Guy Kawasaki says that you can't make money if you 'work' for money. But if you work - being an entrepreneur - towards value-creation for the customer, then you may make money. His words on being passionate about entrepreneurship still echo in my ears.
4. Research is truly, truly interesting apart from being essential.
On passion we should listen to what CEO of Miniclip says:
“I love the fact that when I go home to visit my parents the kids in the village know me as Mr Miniclip. I certainly don’t do this out of a desire to be wealthy. For me the idea that 43m people are using our site is the thing that makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. It has become a bit of an obsession.”
I personally think that we need only two things in order to achieve our goals:
1)Passion
2)Perfect Intensions
When you have got these two things everything else comes itself.
Very true Passion is the core requirement, everything else would take care of itself.
I more thing that I forgot is about social entpreneurship. He told us about how social entrepreneurship can be applicable here in Pakistan. For example, taking the food which is going to be wasted anyway, from hotels like pc and then selling to poor people at a very low price with your price cute included in it.
there is a process called 'mc donaldisation'. this relates to our consumption patterns being heavily defined by material desires.if we move away from this concept, we can still maximise our profits, by reversing the rules of 'capitalism' itself and actually going into the 'social enterpreneurship' by using our enterpreneurial energy to start businesses of the type that Mr. Khurram mentioned.such as transferring the leftover food from a 'shadi ghar' to the poor at low rates and keeping small margins.
Business idea-
1-many shadi houses and restaurants in lahore.
2-one shadi/any other occasion per per night per shadi house or a restaurant.
3-food saved per shadi ghar multiplied by total no of shadi ghars.
4-total satisfaction for poor= total high margin for the enterpreneur=money for the shadi ghars. all happy.
i think the fea should have a talk on such a social enterpreneurship idea the next time.
